Laser Vision Treatment

Today there is a selection of laser vision treatments available to help individuals see clearly without the use of glasses or contact lenses. At our office, these options include LASIK and PRK.

LASIK

LASIK, or Laser-Assisted In Situ Keratomileusis, is a popular form of laser vision correction. This option can be used to correct farsightedness, nearsightedness, and astigmatism. Many patients who undergo LASIK achieve 20/25 vision or better.

PRK

PRK, or photorefractive keratectomy, is a great alternative for those who are not good candidates for LASIK. This refractive surgery corrects nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism. The main difference between PRK and LASIK is that PRK does not require the creation of a corneal flap.

Cataract Surgery

A cataract occurs when the eye’s natural lens becomes cloudy. This occurs when proteins in the lens break down, causing hazy or blurry vision. While most cataracts are associated with old age, cataracts can affect people of all ages. At Anh Nguyen Ophthalmology, we offer an array of options to treat cataracts for improved vision. We can also help educate individuals on how to best prevent cataracts in the future.

Laser Cataract Surgery

Laser cataract surgery is an effective option when it comes to treating cataracts. To begin this procedure, a full 3D mapping of the eyes will be performed to allow your ophthalmologist to be as precise as possible during surgery. Our laser system will then create small incisions within the cornea to break p cataracts that can be removed along with the affected lens. An appropriate replacement lens (intraocular lens or IOL) can then be placed.

Lens Implants

An ICL, or implantable collamer lens, is an artificial lens that is used to correct refractive errors. At our practice, we offer EVO ICL for long-term correction of refractive errors for greatly improved vision, without the need for daily contact lens use.

Light Adjustable Lens

Other IOL options offered include Light Adjustable Lens (LAL). These are unique because their prescription can be adjusted once they are already in your eyes. This allows patients to adjust and find their optimal prescription, which is then locked in.

Medical Eye Care

Our team can also diagnose and treat a large array of eye conditions and eye problems, including chalazion, dry eye, cornea problems, pterygium, glaucoma, retina problems, and much more. If you are experiencing symptoms that you believe are out of the ordinary or associated with an eye condition, do not hesitate to contact our office for a professional examination. This is especially important, as some eye conditions may be serious and lead to vision damage or vision loss.
