Eyelid Surgery (Blepharoplasty)
Eyelid surgery, also called blepharoplasty, is an effective solution to laxity around the eyelids. As we age, the skin and muscles around the eyes weaken, leading to a droopy and aged appearance. Eyelid surgery can restore a more naturally youthful appearance to the eyes. Blepharoplasty can be performed on the upper eyelids, the lower eyelids, or both. During an upper blepharoplasty procedure, an incision is made along the natural crease of the eyelid to hide any possible scarring. During a lower blepharoplasty, an incision is created just below the lashes or in the lower lid. Through these incisions, excess skin, fat, and muscle are removed.
For individuals with severe sagging of the upper lids, ptosis surgery may be required. This procedure tightens the muscle responsible for lifting the upper lid.
Brow Lift
A brow lift, or a forehead lift, is performed to rejuvenate the face above the eyes. During this procedure, underlying muscles and tissues are repositioned, and lax forehead skin is removed.
