EVO ICL in Vienna, VA

EVO ICL in Vienna, VA

Residents of Vienna, VA have direct access to all the treatment options we offer at Anh Nguyen Ophthalmology. If you are seeking clearer vision or you suspect there might be a problem with one or both of your eyes, we’re more than happy to help you achieve the clear, healthy eyes you deserve.

What is EVO ICL?

An EVO ICL, or evolution implantable collamer lens, is a type of artificial lens designed to correct refractive errors over the long term. It’s similar to a contact lens, but instead of going over the eye, it is placed behind the iris to help with a variety of vision concerns. The procedure only requires a tiny incision and, in total, takes about 10-15 minutes. ICLs can be a great alternative to many laser procedures that aren’t always suitable for everyone.

Laser Surgery Options in Vienna, VA

We also offer a few different laser surgery options at Ann Nguyen Ophthalmology, including LASIK and PRK. One of our experienced ophthalmologists will help you determine which one is right for your needs.

LASIK

LASIK surgery, or Laser-Assisted In Situ Keratomileusis, is the most popular form of laser vision correction available today. It can correct nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism by reshaping the cornea using an excimer laser, resulting in much clearer vision.

PRK

PRK, or photorefractive keratectomy, was around before LASIK and also corrects nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism. The difference is that PRK does not require making a corneal flap, but instead removes the first layer of the cornea. The layer grows back in about a week. It can be a great option for those who cannot undergo LASIK.

Retina Problems

Some eye conditions are a result of an issue with the retina of the eye, and they include:

Ptosis

Ptosis is an eye condition where the muscle responsible for raising your upper eyelid starts to stretch and weaken over time, and it can lead to an obstruction in your vision and make you look tired even after a good night’s rest. Luckily, with surgery, we can correct this issue.

Glaucoma

Glaucoma is a disease that can cause permanent damage to the optic nerve. It occurs when the drainage system inside your eye becomes blocked, and your intraocular pressure increases with the fluid having nowhere to go. As the pressure increases, your eye can push back on the optic nerve, which can lead to permanent vision loss. With proper treatment and early detection, we can treat the condition.
